Tea Ice Cream Floats!

Yay! Tea and ice cream! This delicate twist on a classic is perfect for the summer.

Ingredients:

  • Tea leaves (I recommend a sweet black tea, like Love Tea #7 from DavidsTea)
  • Water
  • Ice
  • Vanilla ice cream

Directions:

  1. Prepare 1 cup of iced tea (Make the tea according to the instructions, but use twice the recommended amount of tea leaves. After steeping, pour the tea into a glass full of ice, as in FULL of ice. The tea has to be extremely cold, or the ice cream will melt too quickly.)
  2. In another tall glass, pour  amount of the iced tea. Then, add a generous scoop of the ice cream, before pouring in the rest of the tea.

Serve with a straw (preferably brightly coloured!)

Every time I try to upload the photo, the computer dies… How unfortunate. I suppose you’ll just have to use your imagination to picture this delectable creation.

Mango Madness

K and I keep up with the latest DavidsTea news. We creep the website. We salivate over the new accessories (“OH MY GOODNESS I NEED THE STEEPER! etc, etc). I’ve practically memorised the entire Tea List. Thus, after a week of anxious waiting, we rushed to our local David’sTea to taste one of their latest concoctions: Mango Madness.

Mango. Orange slices. Strawberry pieces. And we couldn’t taste any of it. It was essentially some barely noticeable white tea with a gorgeous orange colour.

Who would of thought that mango could disappoint?

We were told to simply up the steeping time if we thought that the flavour was too light, but then the white tea would have been overpoweringly bitter. Our only option was the age-old standby: sugar. Even after we had added enough agave syrup to put us on the fast track to diabetes, we were wholly unsatisfied. K chucked hers in the first garbage can she saw.

However, don’t just listen to us. Head over to DavidsTea and try it for yourself. $10/50g.
